Could we have a daily minimum threshold for overtime?

Hi Personio Team,

We have a local policy requirement that only overtime exceeding 30 minutes per day should be counted as actual overtime. For example:

  • Work 20 minutes extra → 0 overtime

  • Work 45 minutes extra → 15 minutes overtime

Currently, Personio only supports monthly overtime cliff. There is no option to set a daily minimum threshold before overtime starts accumulating.

This means employees see more overtime in their balance than they are actually entitled to according to our policy.

Could it be possible to add an option in Work Schedule settings to define a daily overtime cliff (e.g., 0.5 hours, 1 hour, etc.), so that overtime is only calculated for time worked beyond that daily threshold.

That would make life so much easier for companies with similar local rules.

Thanks for considering!

Hi @kk2026,

as far as I’m aware this is (currently) not possible. I imagine because in many countries overtime legally is counted directly from minute 1. But I suggest to send this as a feedback directly on the platform, you might not be the only one needing this. :-)
