Hi folks!

Just wanted to say thank you so much for joining me in our first book club meeting. I had a blast and it’s made me even more invigorated to keep going with this. I’ll be sending out a list of our next book choices soon.

However, if you have any recommendations for what we should read next, please share it here in the comments. 😄

Otherwise, thank you all so much. Can’t wait for all the future books we’ll be reading and everything we’ll be learning together!

In fact, I’ve just had a bit of an idea. Instead of me peppering you with a survey link, why don’t you go ahead and leave a comment letting me know your impressions of this book club meeting. It’ll be valuable feedback for me to make sure we’re doing this right or how we can improve it!

Hei Moe,

Thanks so much for organizing it, it was great! I'm already looking forward to the next one. A few thoughts and learnings from this session…

I think the meeting would really benefit from a full hour next time, maybe even 1.5 hours, depending on the topic. I really loved the idea of discussing how the themes apply to our own lives and organizations. Unfortunately, we didn’t have much time for that this time, but it was great to hear some of the stories shared.

Perhaps for future sessions, we could reserve around 30 minutes specifically to dive into the more “practical” aspects of the book. I feel like many of us are quite aligned on the main ideas and key takeaways, so this could make the discussions even more productive and grounded.

Personally, I’m planning to read Reinventing Organizations next, which explores the evolution of humans and organizations, seems quite relevant!

Thanks again, and looking forward to the next one.

Thank you so much, @Moe , for organising this! I really enjoyed reading the book, and even more so, meeting you all and sharing our thoughts and experiences.

I’m with @andra.enache on the meeting length and diving deeper into the more practical aspects of the book. Kinda like a book club with a mastermind twist. 😊 It’s always inspiring to exchange ideas around business and life, especially with like-minded people who bring such diverse experiences and perspectives to the table.

It was also great to finally put faces to the familiar names I’ve seen in the community. Looking forward to staying connected! 😃

Agree with Sabbu and Andra - it was really great to ‘meet’ Community members in person and exchange ideas.

An hour would work well; I guess we wouldn’t need to spend quite so much time on intros for the next one, giving a bit more time for discussion?

And definitely would be useful to be able to spend time thinking about the practical applications of whatever has been presented in the book we’ve read - I find that you always come away with lots of exciting knowledge and new ideas (same when doing a training course), but then the real-life application bit tends to be the real challenge!

Coming in with a fourth hand up for an hour long call.

It was so lovely to ‘meet’ more people in the Personio community and be able to share our thoughts and ideas with each other.

I wonder whether next time we could each add our own little review onto the agenda page prior to the call and points for discussion could be picked out of those reviews as a slight twist.

Also really love the idea of focuses on how we can put the learnings and theories from a book into practice!
