📱 Help Us Make the Personio Mobile App Your Go-To HR Companion! 🚀

Hi everyone 👋 I’m Lisa from the Mobile team. I’ll be here during the week, looking forward to some great feedback, thoughts and discussions. 

1️⃣ Inspiration from Other Apps: Are there any apps you love using because they’re simple, intuitive, or just a joy to navigate? What makes them stand out to you?

I find all apps have their good and bad sides - I can’t think of any that are consistently a ‘joy’ to use/navigate! The John Lewis app seems well-designed, easy to use, and modelled to its target audience. 

2️⃣ Mobile vs. Desktop: When do you prefer using mobile versus desktop for your tasks? Are there specific tasks that naturally span both platforms?

I prefer using LinkedIn mobile app to desktop site, but access it on both app and desktop during the week. Most of the time (particularly for Personio) I prefer desktop sites, for work purposes. My job involves being at my computer, with two large monitors, all day. So there’s no real reason to use mobile apps. We also have strict privacy policies, so it’s not really the done thing to access employee information on a personal phone (we don’t tend to have work mobiles). If I was more site-based, or not on a PC all day, I would definitely be more likely to access work apps on my phone.

3️⃣ Personalisation: How important is it for you to customise your experience, like reordering items or tailoring features to your needs?

Not hugely likely, on a mobile app - I would just want it to be designed to work intuitively in what is relatively limited screen area. On a desktop I’d be slightly more likely to customise layout - but only to a point. Fundamentally I would just want the site to ‘work’, without much effort on my part.

4️⃣ Your Dream Features: What would make the Personio Mobile App truly exceptional for you?

The ability to remove the large ‘clock in’ button at the bottom of the screen! We don’t use the Personio time tracking function, so this wastes a lot of space on the home screen. I would want to be able to see the inbox tasks. I would want it to look more like Personio! 

​@HRJoy, thanks for taking the time to give this feedback, it’s really helpful. Can you tell me a little more about how your team is distributed? Are you office based / hybrid / remote? 

We are fully remote, so everyone works at home, and everyone is ‘desktop’ based, very few people have company mobiles (we communicate via Teams, both internally and with our clients). So our takeup of the Personio app will be very low, regardless of how excellent it is!

it would be good to be able to see the personal details of the employees and not just their public profile. Thinking more in the case of business continuity if for some reason we couldn’t get into our systems but still had to contact employees would be good to have access to their details on the app. 

Hi! We’ve had quite a bit of feedback from our managers that they would like to be able to view & approve / decline absence requests from the mobile app, and check the company Calendar to see if there would be any absence clashes (also who is in & out that day). We’re a fully-remote company, employees mostly use desktop for most Personio activities but often are travelling or away from home and managers would like to be able to use travelling time to catch up on their outstanding Tasks / approvals

Hello, 

We are based in a lot of Africans country, and mobile is the first access to Personio. 
Ideally, we would lile to have the same experience (all modules) but designed for mobile. 

To be more precise : Having the possibility to see the documents, and to sign them directly through the app would be a fisrt step. 
Having a mobile onbaording experience would be perfect as well. 

Being able to approve changes (absences or employee request) through the app woud be very useful for managers as well. 

Finally, it’s sometimes complicated for our users to understand how to login, due to the fact that they have to enter the subdomain themselves. Having the possibility to log in without entering it would be a great improvement. 

Last but not least, Answering a survey from a mobile device would be great.

Thanks for passing on this feedback — I can definitely see that would be useful. Are there other things outside of quick tasks and approvals that could be useful for your team to catch up on while they’re travelling?

Yes, my company is hybrid and due to the nature of the work is sometimes out at client sites so need to be able to easily assess employee information since sometimes employees are not on the premises 

Great, thank you! I’d love to get a sense of the digital ecosystem you’re working in while you’re on the go — what other apps or tools are you using regularly? This can include built-in features like your phones’ camera or notes apps. 

… May I add to this - that also a phone number under the personal details would be really beneficial! It’s visible on the desktop version but not the app.
